On Thursday, more than 20 vintage cars appeared at Piłsudski Square. The automotive exhibition was organized by the German DKW club. The cars came from various periods of the previous century. Club members could show off vehicles from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Among the well-known brands, visitors could spot Wartburgs, Trabants, IFAs and Audis.
The club organizes meetings—rallies—every year. The season begins in spring and ends in autumn. “Every club member should organize such a meeting. I come from Silesia and often visit Poland for various rallies, so I decided to organize a meeting in Bolesławiec,” Heinrich Poloczek, commander of the DKW club, told Boleslawiec.org.
The vintage cars could not only be admired, but also judged. All the cars were assigned competition numbers. The residents of Bolesławiec voted for the ones they liked most. The greatest recognition went to the car belonging to Detlef Kőlling. Bernhard Bergmann’s car took second place. The third-most beautiful car was chosen to be Zbyszko Piwowarek’s car from Szklarska Poręba.
The members of the DKW club stayed in Bolesławiec for only a few hours. The next stop on their route through Lower Silesia was Kliczków.
