The Federation of Young Social Democrats warmly invites everyone interested to a lecture by Józef Burniak, former president of Bolesławiec and currently a City Councilor. The lecture will address local government in the broadest sense: how local government operates and how power is exercised within its administrative structures. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, October 2, at the SLD district branch headquarters in Bolesławiec, 15 Opitza Street, at 6:00 p.m.
“My lectures are a response to the valuable initiative of FMS. They will contain no politics, but knowledge about local government from a theoretical and, above all, practical perspective,” says Józef Burniak. “That is why all young people can participate in the lectures, regardless of their political views, including members of PiS and the League of Polish Families. I believe that in this way I am repaying a debt to those who once taught me about local government,” he adds. “I emphasize that the lectures will be non-political and substantive,” the councilor stresses.
“We are pleased that we will be able to benefit from the knowledge of someone as experienced as Mr. Burniak,” says Michał Banaś, chairman of FMS in Bolesławiec. “We hope that the skills acquired during his lecture will be useful to anyone who intends to pursue a future in local government or wants to take the high-school examination in civics,” Banaś adds.
