Many residents of Bolesławiec came to the Orzeł cinema on Friday to watch the latest productions by Grażyna Hanaf and Krzysztof Gwizdała. They presented a series of film portraits entitled “Beyond Everyday Life.” The series features exceptional people living in Bolesławiec County.

The first portrait, “It Would Be Art to Be Someone Else,” presents Jolanta Ajlikow-Czarnecka, an artist, longtime educator and, above all, mentor to many well-known residents of Bolesławiec. She is an exceptional figure, with her own atmosphere and history, woven into the character of our town.

“I Could Have Gone on to the End” is the story of actor and mime Bogdan Nowak, who returned to Bolesławiec after more than twenty years of traveling, during which he performed with Marcel Marceau’s troupe on every continent.

In her statement, “I Know That I Am Discovering,” artist Jadwiga Janina Sarzyńska presents one of her works, “Multiplication,” and captivates viewers with her ability to enter other worlds.

The fourth portrait, “Glass That Can Be Hidden on the Chest,” sketches the artistic personality of Stanisław Borowski. The world-renowned glass artist creates his works in his studio near Bolesławiec.

“Air, Bread, Life, Love.” is the statement of a dancer and flamenco instructor. Listening to and watching the protagonist dance, we cannot determine where passion begins and everyday life ends.

“We prepared all the films with the intention of publishing them online. We wanted everyone who visited the Bolesławiec website to be able to learn what wonderful people live in our town,” says Grażyna Hanaf, the director of all the films. “The premiere nevertheless took place in the traditional way, at the cinema of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre,” adds Krzysztof Gwizdała, the cinematographer and editor.

The first part of the series, portraying the recently deceased Jolanta Ajlikow-Czarnecka, will be shown on the Boleslawiec.org portal on September 1. The subsequent parts will appear at weekly intervals.
