The accident occurred on a section of the “four” currently undergoing repairs, near the village of Wykroty. Conditions on the road were very difficult, with heavy rain falling. The tragedy was probably caused by the truck driver, who lost control of the vehicle and crashed with tremendous force into the minibus traveling from the direction of Zgorzelec.

Three of the six people traveling in the minibus died at the scene. Four people were taken to hospital. The trucks, which overturned across the road, completely blocked traffic in both directions. Police organized a detour through Nowogrodziec. Clearing the aftermath of the tragedy may take at least until 10:00 a.m.
