Bolesławiec resident Kacper Grela, after winning the Polish under-seven title in May this year, went to compete against older players—in the under-eight group. Among such strong opponents, the TOP Bolesławiec player’s goal was to finish at least in the top six. Winning any medal seemed beyond reach.

On the third day of the competition, the Polish 15-minute rapid chess championships were held, known as the Polish Cup. It was in this event that Kacper proved completely unrivalled. The seven-year-old scored a perfect number of points. In doing so, he showed that his previous achievements were absolutely no coincidence. Particular attention should be paid both to the fact that he defeated older players and to the style in which the Bolesławiec resident won.
