The appointment of Maciej Małkowski is the result of an agreement between the groups governing the city: Ziemia Bolesławiecka and Prawo i Sprawiedliwość. “I have been a member of Ziemia Bolesławiecka since 12 June; previously, I was a supporter,” Maciej Małkowski told Boleslawiec.org. He also added that he would implement the mayor’s vision. In Małkowski’s opinion, the city and its institutions are functioning well, and nothing requires a revolution.

Until the end of the month, the new deputy mayor will continue working as head of the Municipal Government Bodies Department. Among other things, this department is responsible for preparing all the resolutions adopted by councillors.
