Last week, athletes from TOP Bolesławiec competed in the heavily attended Belgian Grand Prix racketlon tournament. The event attracted the entire world elite, with more than 150 competitors from around the world. The tournament was part of the World Grand Prix series with the highest points coefficient. Bolesławiec athletes Krzysztof Samonek, Jacek Szubert and Norbert Stolicki were the only representatives of our country at the championships.
Krzysztof and Jacek competed in the Elite class, where the best players in the world compete (professional players). After three days of competition, Krzysztof Samonek took a high 11th place, while Jacek Szubert, making his debut in the top group, finished a good 23rd. Our third player, Norbert Stolicki, competed in Group B, which he won decisively, taking the gold medal. The Bolesławiec athlete was thereby promoted to the Elite group. The Belgian tournament was Norbert Stolicki’s most successful racketlon competition to date.
The successful performances of the TOP Bolesławiec athletes in Belgium will certainly result in our players moving up the world rankings. The next tests for the Bolesławiec athletes will be the Polish Championships (mid-June) and the German Grand Prix (in July).
