The international chess meeting began at 10:00 in the conference room of the Bolesławiec County Office. The meeting was open to everyone. Neither gender, place of residence nor level of chess experience mattered. The games were played using the Swiss system. A total of 41 chess players from across Lower Silesian Voivodeship and from Iława took part.

The winners in the boys’ under-12 category were:

  1. Bartosz Pachom from Bolesławiec
  2. Miłosz Prystupa from Bolesławiec
  3. Przemysław Kania from Bolesławiec.

In the girls’ 13–15 category, first place went to Magdalena Najdek from Chojnów. The best in the boys’ 13–15 category were:

  1. Michał Mikłaszewicz from Legnica
  2. Jacek Iwanicki from Chojnów
  3. Dawid Permus from Bolesławiec.

The winners in the girls’ 16–18 category were:

  1. Justyna Szczepańska from Iława
  2. Elwira Kupisz from Bolesławiec.

The highest-placed competitors in the boys’ 16–18 category were:

  1. Emil Firszt from Bolesławiec
  2. Łukasz Kościuk from Wykroty
  3. Łukasz Wolfram from Wykroty.

The winners in the men’s 19–30 category were:

  1. Robert Jankiewicz from Wykroty
  2. Sławomir Szczepański from Iława
  3. Tomasz Teper from Iława.

The best in the men’s 31–55 category were:

  1. Jarosław Paździor from Iława
  2. Andrzej Nowakowski from Lwówek Śląski
  3. Sławomir Graff from Bolesławiec.

In the women’s 56-and-over category, first place went to Stanisława Kozubek from Bolesławiec. The winners in the men’s 56-and-over category were:

  1. Jerzy Kot from Bolesławiec
  2. Zbigniew Humenny from Bolesławiec
  3. Jerzy Pudło from Chojnów.

The best in the overall women’s classification were:

  1. Justyna Szczepańska
  2. Elwira Kupisz
  3. Stanisława Kozubek.

The best in the overall men’s classification were:

  1. Jarosław Paździor
  2. Robert Jankiewicz
  3. Jerzy Kot.

Robert Jankiewicz was named the best chess player in Bolesławiec County. The youngest competitor, Przemysław Kania, was 8 years old. The winners received statuettes, certificates and prizes.

At 15:00, a simultaneous chess exhibition with Jolanta Zawadzka began. She is a world junior champion and a Polish and European senior champion.

Twenty-seven players took part in the simultaneous exhibition. Three of them managed to defeat the champion (Jerzy Pudło, Jan Tambur and Bogusław Mienculewicz). Five chess players drew their games (Zbigniew Kaźmierski, Janusz Piątek, Andrzej Kędzia, Michał Mikłaszewicz and Sławomir Graff).

The events were organized by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec and the BKS chess section.
