In Poland, disco polo is supposedly synonymous with embarrassment. Supposedly, because after the right amount of alcohol, this music appears at many parties.

Disco polo is undeniably riding a wave. We are becoming increasingly bolder in embracing this genre and in places where, until recently, we would never have imagined it could appear. Some people cannot imagine a good night out without “Ona czuje we mnie piniądz.” Saturday night at Club Imperium will be a celebration of disco polo and drinking music. In other words, songs about love, sex and money.

Łobuzy is a new musical project that has shaken up Poland’s disco scene. The representatives of the new Disco Yolo movement are Discomił, Dj Yalla and Dj Yolo. The Łobuzy crew debuted in mid-2015 with a music video entitled “Ona Czuje We Mnie Piniądz.” It was the first single promoting the project. The video was produced in Dubai, according to the caption beneath the video on YouTube. The clip was shared on their profiles by, among others, Ewelina Lisowska and Dawid Kwiatkowski, idols of teenage audiences. It is obvious, in any case, that the song has a strongly dance-oriented sound—in simple terms, it is in the disco polo style. The project is led by Igor Pilewicz, Kwiatkowski’s manager, and musicians from Ewelina Lisowska’s band also took part in Łobuzy. Internet users commenting beneath the video wonder whether the song is a parody of disco polo or whether the video was made seriously.

Jokes aside, this song has already been played nearly 52 million times. The band’s second production saw the light of day in March 2016: a music video for the song entitled “Pupy.” We invite you to a great party and Bolesławiec Oktoberfest.
