Individual teams have already completed most of their preparations. BTS Elektros’ volleyball players played in one tournament in Żarów, and are currently alternating training sessions in their own hall with practice matches. – Preparations are slowly coming to an end. There is less than a week left before the league begins. Although the “Electrics” are newcomers, they keep repeating that the most important things are play, commitment and dedication – says the head of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie Jacek Łuczkowski. – If these three elements function properly, we will score individual points; later, we will win sets and matches. This, in turn, will affect our position in the table. The goal for the coming season is a mid-table finish and comfortably keeping the team in the second league.

Last season, coach Marcin Sobczyszyn led the team to the runner-up position in the third league and promotion. He has also taken charge of the newcomers. Damian Śliwiński became the second coach, responsible for the players’ physical preparation and recovery. The club has finalized its squad for the upcoming season. The second-league team will be based on players from the previous season. In addition, two players loaned from Ikar Legnica have joined the team from the City of Ceramics: setter Jakub Koncewicz and middle blocker Filip Michalewski. The last player to join the “Electrics” was outside hitter Dariusz Tkaczuk, loaned from UKS MOS Opole, who played for a second-league team from Oława last season.

The BTS Elektros squad consists of 17 players:

  • setters: Artur Sławnikowski, Jakub Koncewicz
  • outside hitters: Paweł Kozłowski, Tomasz Włoszczyński, Damian Śliwiński, Łukasz Mesjasz, Piotr Filistyński, Przemysław Mszal, Dariusz Tkaczuk
  • opposite hitters: Rafał Wójtowicz, Wojciech Nitecki, Maciej Jaroni
  • middle blockers: Mateusz Świerzewski, Filip Michalewski, Robert Walkowiak, Wojciech Marcinkiewicz
  • libero: Kamil Biczak.

On 1 October, the “Electrics” will open their second-league campaign with a match against the best team in Group 2 of the second league – OFM Bielawianka Bester Bielawa. A highly exciting match is expected. Although Bielawianka are the favorites, our players say they will fight for every ball in an attempt to cause an upset. A group of supporters planning to travel to the match will cheer on our volleyball players in Bielawa. The game will take place on Saturday, 1 October at Primary School No. 10 in Bielawa. The start is scheduled for 6:00 p.m..
