The new seating will be made of concrete, with seat coverings made of exotic-wood slats. The amphitheater will have 435 seats. Lighting is planned in the side covering of the amphitheater seating. The project includes, among other things, sandstone stair treads, stainless-steel tubular railings, and surfaces for risers and passageways. The stage foundation will be made of concrete, with sandstone coverings for the edges and stair plinths. The stage surface will be made of colored, non-slip epoxy resin. The area will be illuminated. Shrubs will be planted on the slope behind the amphitheater audience area.
The value of the project is PLN 1,385,085. The contractor is BBI Budownictwo from Wrocław. “The project is being carried out במסגרת the INTERREG Poland–Saxony Cooperation Programme 2014–2020. Zittau is the partner of the city of Bolesławiec. Together with our German partner, we obtained funding for the project ‘Culture Without Borders – renovation of the amphitheater in the municipal park in Bolesławiec and the open-air stage ‘Weinau’ in Zittau,’” says Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018. In addition to renovating the amphitheater in Bolesławiec and expanding the amphitheater in Zittau, the project includes joint cultural events in both cities.
