Two years ago, we reported that, following a request from the Jelenia Góra WORD, traffic organization was changed in three locations in Bolesławiec in January 2014. The biggest change concerned the intersection of Gdańska and Śluzowa streets. A priority-to-the-right intersection was introduced there.

In May 2014, Hemi wrote on our forum:

For goodness' sake, look at the signs there! It is now a priority-to-the-right intersection. Why am I starting this topic? I was coming from Śluzowa, turned left, and almost collided with a certain woman who was confidently driving along Gdańska :( I honked, and got the middle finger in response... I was returning along Gdańska from the swimming pools, approaching the intersection, and I knew that those coming from the right had priority, but a woman in an Audi was standing there waiting... I stopped and let her through (because, for goodness' sake, she had priority), but she didn't know what to do!

And he added: “At the Gdańska/Śluzowa intersection there is this sign, meaning that the person on the right has priority! I drive there often and it drives me crazy.

Interestingly, we are receiving reports that this intersection still causes some drivers trouble. Sometimes cars approach from all four directions and all the drivers simply stop because they do not know who should go first. In such a case, someone has to make the decision. However, if the way on our right is clear, we should not stop but continue driving, because we have priority.

Do situations of this kind often happen to you at the Gdańska–Śluzowa intersection? We invite you to join the discussion.
