An operator monitoring the city’s surveillance system noticed a group of people near the bus shelter on Spółdzielcza Street. At one point, one of the men knocked over a nearby rubbish bin, causing its contents to spill out. The man then threw rubbish at passing vehicles. Next, the vandal began kicking the side wall of the bus shelter, breaking the glass.
A police patrol was immediately called to the scene; unfortunately, the perpetrator left in an unknown direction. After analysing the surveillance footage, it turned out that police officers had dealt with this vandal moments earlier, in the same place (at that time, he had thrown a rubbish bin onto the road). “The information held by the police officers, together with footage from the Bolesławiec city video-surveillance system, made it possible to identify the hooligan and thus carry out official proceedings to punish him,” Bolesławiec municipal police officers said.
