Passengers have been able to familiarize themselves with the timetable since mid-August. Posters are displayed at railway stations and on platforms, and information is also available online. During this weekend, when the adjustment comes into effect, mobile information officers will provide additional support for passengers.
Infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., together with carriers, has prepared an offer that makes use of the results of work already completed and provides increasingly shorter travel times on long-distance and regional routes. The timetable includes further works that
will improve travel comfort even further. Carriers have planned their routes so as to make the best use of the available railway network. Due to works carried out by the infrastructure manager, some trains will operate on altered routes. Replacement bus services will be introduced on several sections.
Lower Silesia and Silesia
From September 4, residents of Lower Silesia will no longer have to change to buses on the Strzelin–Kamieniec Ząbkowicki section. The popular route from Wrocław to Kłodzko and Międzylesie will be fully served by trains. This will provide convenient access to schools and workplaces in Wrocław, as well as trips to the health resorts in the Kłodzko Valley.
Train services will resume on the Dąbrowa Górnicza Strzemieszyce–Sosnowiec Dańdówka route. The completed works ensure smooth travel on this regional route. Changes to train services on the Katowice–Zwardoń lines and line 138 Katowice–Oświęcim have been planned to be as little disruptive to passengers as possible. They will shorten travel times on the Katowice–Bielsko Biała and Katowice–Zwardoń routes, as well as to Wisła and Zebrzydowice.
Essential renovation work on the Goleszów–Ustroń section, from September 4 to October 15, requires replacement bus transport for passengers traveling to Wisła. Buses will run from Bielsko Biała. In the case of PKP Intercity, this will concern
the IC Wisła train. Due to single-track traffic on the Katowice Ligota–Tychy section, the IC Korfanty train will operate on a shortened route to Katowice.
Maintaining good travel times on the “Wiedeń” route, on the Częstochowa–Koluszki section, requires additional works. Timetable changes from September 4 to October 15 have been limited to several trains. PKP Intercity will suspend the operation of two trains: IC Górnik and IC Fredro (toward Wrocław). EIP and EIC trains on the Warsaw–Wrocław/Jelenia Góra–Warsaw route will continue to serve Częstochowa; only the stopping location will change—the trains will stop at Częstochowa Stradom station rather than Częstochowa Główna station.
Greater Poland
Attention should be paid to the timetable changes affecting regional and InterCity trains on the Poznań Wschód–Trzemeszno route. To improve the line’s parameters, PLK will carry out track works from September 10 to October 15. The project will ultimately shorten travel times and improve passenger service at 10 stations and stops. The timetable also includes changes to train services on the Wrocław–Poznań route. The line provides increasingly shorter journeys thanks to the adaptation of the route for speeds of 160 km/h. Due to track works in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, several PKP Intercity trains will operate on altered routes on the following sections: Gniezno–Poznań Gł., Poznań Gł.–Swarzędz and Wrocław–Poznań. Travel times will increase by approximately 10–20 minutes on average.
Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and Pomerania
Starting in September, the railway bridge in Olsztyn will be renovated. Trains from Warsaw will travel to Olsztyn via Iława, with additional stops at Iława Główna and Ostróda stations. Trains will not stop at Nidzica, Olsztynek or Olsztyn Zachód stations. Replacement bus transport will be introduced for passengers traveling to or from these stations from Działdowo. The timetable for regional trains on the Działdowo–Olsztyn section will also change. Due to maintenance works on the Wejherowo–Lębork section, replacement bus transport will operate instead of three PKP Intercity trains (TLK Słowiniec, TLK Gryf and TLK Żuławy) on September 5–9 and 13–15.
Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship
From the beginning of the adjustment, PKP Intercity trains IC Doker, IC Chemik and IC Stoczniowiec will travel on the Kutno–Bydgoszcz section via a detour through Zamków and Inowrocław. They will not stop at stations in Włocławek, Aleksandrów Kujawski, Toruń Gł., Solec Kujawski, Bydgoszcz Wschód or Bydgoszcz Leśna. In Kutno, these trains will be coordinated with other PKP Intercity services, enabling passengers to change trains and reach the omitted towns. The changes to train services result from the modernization of the line in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The works will ensure that good travel times are maintained.
Lesser Poland
On the Kraków–Krzeszowice route, replacement bus transport will operate instead of Przewozy Regionalne trains that will not stop at Rudawa station. The bus will serve the Zabierzów–Rudawa or Rudawa–Krzeszowice section.
PKP Intercity changes from September
With the September adjustment, the TLK Hańcza train will have its route extended to Grodno. Previously, the train began its journey in Kraków and ended in Białystok or Suwałki. In addition, Express InterCity Premium train no. 4504/5 on the Gliwice–Gdynia route will stop
in Tczew. This will give residents of the city an additional connection. From September 4 to October 15, the EIC SAWA train will operate on the Kraków–Warsaw–Kraków route, replacing the afternoon EIP train from Kraków (no. 3103) and the evening train from Warsaw (no. 1302).
From September 3, weekend TLK Polaris trains (Warsaw–Kołobrzeg–Warsaw) will be suspended. In return, passengers will be able to use the overnight TLK Mars train on the Kołobrzeg–Kraków route, as well as two daytime PKP Intercity services: the economical TLK Słowiniec and a train operated by a Pendolino unit. In addition, from September 5, the operating days of the EIC Sedina train (Warsaw–Szczecin Gł.–Warsaw) will be reduced. The train will operate between Warsaw and Szczecin, and between Szczecin and Warsaw, on Fridays and Sundays. On Saturday, it will depart only from Warsaw, while on Sunday it will depart only from Szczecin. On other days, the train will operate on a shortened route to Poznań. Passengers traveling on the Warsaw–Szczecin–Warsaw route will be able to use eight pairs of services, including three express services.
