Officers from the Legnica police headquarters were notified of a robbery involving a 12-year-old child. Threatening the 12-year-old girl with a knife, the perpetrators ordered her to hand over all her valuables. The frightened girl gave them her phone and PLN 10.
The police obtained an exact description of the perpetrators. They also secured surveillance footage showing two men running. Their appearance matched the description of the perpetrators. The very next day, a Legnica district police officer on duty noticed one of the suspects, who began running away when he saw the police car. After a brief pursuit, Legnica police officers detained a 15-year-old, who admitted to committing the robbery. The second suspect identified by the police, a 17-year-old from Legnica, was detained an hour later.
The police will apply for the 17-year-old suspected of carrying out the knife attack on the 12-year-old girl to be remanded in custody, while regarding the younger perpetrator they will submit a request for placement in a juvenile shelter. Robbery involving a dangerous weapon is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
