The date seems far from accidental. The Bolesławiec municipal police force was established on October 27, 2004, meaning that exactly two and a half years passed between the formation of the unit and the opening of its new headquarters.

Emil Zając admitted that when the Bolesławiec municipal police began operating, things were not easy. “We started with one dilapidated desk,” the commander said. The newly opened headquarters covers 178 m² and includes an operations room, changing rooms, a storeroom and an archive. The Municipal Police also has a garage with two parking spaces. In the near future, it will be necessary to purchase a second vehicle. The adaptation of the premises and construction of the garage cost more than PLN 300,000. But now the officers can finally receive both guests and visitors in dignified conditions.

To mark the opening of the new headquarters, the mayor and the chairwoman of the City Council presented promotions to the municipal police officers. One woman, Kamila Chalewicz, was among those promoted; she attained the rank of junior inspector. A priest blessed the new headquarters. Meanwhile, Adam Różycki, the commander of the Bolesławiec police, presented the officers with a Commissioner Lion mascot “for good luck”—the best police officer in Lower Silesia. The official ceremony was followed by refreshments and impressive displays of physical fitness.
