Several dozen teams from Polish and European clubs have announced their participation in the 2nd International Ceramika Cup Football Tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 14 to 19 August. Children and young people aged 7 to 18 will take part in the tournament accompanying the Ceramics Festival.
The Bolesławiec tournament will be the largest sporting event of its kind in Lower Silesia. "There are few such tournaments in Poland as a whole," says Damian Sawczak, the tournament’s originator and one of its organizers. "I think that if everything goes according to plan, we will be able to celebrate one of the largest football tournaments for children and young people right here in Bolesławiec," adds the event’s originator. Matches will be played on pitches in Bolesławiec and nearby towns. Several dozen teams have announced their participation in the tournament, including teams from Germany, the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands and Denmark. The organizers estimate that more than 1,000 footballers will come to the tournament.
In addition to the tournament matches, the organizers have planned many additional attractions. These will include a demonstration training session by Zagłębie Lubin players from the Polish first division, meetings with Polish national-team players, meetings with renowned coaches and performances by music stars.
