– During the meeting, details concerning the organization of this year’s conference of the Association of European Border Regions were established, among other matters. This year, Bolesławiec will host representatives of all euroregions, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman reports. The Association of European Border Regions is an organization bringing together euroregions.
It is worth recalling that the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa is the oldest organization of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. The organization brings together local government units from the three sides of the border: Polish, Czech and German. Each side is represented by the head of its council. The Czech Republic is represented by the hetman (the equivalent of a marshal) of the Liberec Region, Martin Puta; Germany by the district administrator of Görlitz County, Berndt Lange; and Poland by Bolesławiec Mayor P. Roman.
This year’s conference of the Association of European Border Regions will be held on 24 September in Bolesławiec. Approximately 200 representatives of border regions from across Europe will participate.
