On Saturday, July 23, before 3:00 p.m., volunteer firefighters from Trzebień were dispatched to a road accident on provincial road no. 297 between Kozłów and Leszno Górne.

Upon arrival at the scene, qualified first aid was provided to 6 injured people. The response also involved 2 units from the State Fire Service Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec, 2 units from the State Fire Service Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Szprotawa, the Leszno Górne Volunteer Fire Service, several emergency medical teams from Bolesławiec and Szprotawa, and police patrols.

The driver of an Audi crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a Mercedes. As a result of the collision, the Audi bounced off the Mercedes and hit another Audi. The driver of the Audi that crossed into the opposite lane and collided with the Mercedes died at the scene. The passenger, who was in serious condition, was airlifted to a hospital in Zielona Góra. Four children were also injured in the accident. They were taken to hospitals.
