This is the case, for example, of the „Ceramika Artystyczna” Artistic Handicrafts Cooperative, which currently employs more than 400 people. One of the companies located in the Bolesławiec subzone of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone „Invest-Park” – SRG Global – is also experiencing problems with parking spaces for its employees.
This type of problem will probably not affect Rhenus Logistics, whose logistics centre is currently being built in our zone. The company also intends to build a car park that will accommodate more than 500 passenger cars.
What could solve the parking problem in the city? More paid parking zones in the city centre, which municipal officials are already considering, as well as free public transport, which may be introduced in 2018. (This was one of the campaign promises of the incumbent mayor, Piotr Roman.)
It is worth adding that there are 50,000 cars in Bolesławiec every day. “We have very precise data on the number of cars in Bolesławiec,” P. Roman said in February this year. “The number of cars registered by Bolesławiec residents [dane z 23 lutego – przyp. „ii”] is 33,608, of which nearly 5,000 are lorries. If we add the several thousand cars that enter our city every day, we have approximately 50,000 cars in Bolesławiec each day.”
