On 18 July, we reported that the 23-year-old suspected of causing the accident was wanted by the police. Officers determined that he might be staying at a friend’s home and detained him there. Attempting to avoid detention, the suspect also tried to escape through a window, fortunately without success.
The 23-year-old resident of the Podgórzyn commune is suspected of causing a serious accident that occurred on 16 July, at approximately 8:20 p.m., on Sikorskiego Street in Karpacz, and of fleeing the scene. As a result of the accident, a 68-year-old woman suffered serious bodily injuries.
The suspect was taken into police custody. The investigation is being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. For causing an accident in which the injured woman suffered serious bodily injuries and fleeing the scene, the man could face up to 12 years in prison.
