The incident occurred on July 4 at around 10:30 p.m. Police officers noticed a Renault on one of the streets in the Zabobrze housing estate. The driver's manner of driving indicated that he might have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The officers stopped him for a roadside inspection. He turned out to be a 31-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra.
During the inspection, the man behaved strangely and was very nervous, while the distinct smell of marijuana could be detected in the car. In the man's backpack, the officers found amphetamine and marijuana—more than 30 saleable doses. In addition, the Jelenia Góra resident admitted that he had driven the car under the influence of the latter drug. Blood was taken from him for testing.
The detained man could face up to three years in prison.
