The past month has gone down in the history of the BOK-MCC contemporary dance studio as a series of artistic successes. The Nocturn and Modus groups took part in three regional and national competitions. The groups’ instructor is Halina Bałacka-Kłak.
Classes at the contemporary dance studio are held in three groups: Promyki for children aged 7–9, Nocturn for participants aged 10 to 15, and Modus for young people over 15.
Gold in Żary
During the 2nd Western Poland Championships in Freestyle Dance (Hip Hop, Break Dance and Electric Boogie), BATTLE For Żary, held on 21 May 2016, the BOK-MCC contemporary dance studio presented two choreographies. The result was two first places for the older groups: Nocturn and Modus.
Gold and silver at the national Stonoga 2016 tournament
The studio’s second trip brought another success. This time, on 11 June 2016, during the 17th National Dance Groups Tournament “STONOGA 2016”, the Nocturn group won first place in its age category, while Modus took second place. It is worth noting that as many as 57 dance groups from 12 Polish cities competed in this year’s Stonoga.
Honourable mention for Julia Babijczuk at Lubin Dance
On 19 June 2016, the studio represented BOK-MCC at the 7th Children’s and Youth Dance Review of Lower Silesia, LUBIN DANCE 2016, which brought together 400 dancers from Lower Silesia. Participants performed in two categories: a mini dance performance and modern dance. The contemporary dance studio’s groups took part in the review, and Julia Babijczuk from the MODUS group received an honourable mention for performing her own solo choreography.
