In the school library, the evening event “Scared to Be Scared” lasted from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The event was organized by teachers: Elżbieta Grzyb, Monika Grzyb, Małgorzata Oleś and Anna Kot.
The children who arrived at the school in the late afternoon took part in many entertaining reading activities. The meeting began with a group reading of a poem about ghosts—ones it is better to laugh at than to be afraid of. Then everyone took part in a workshop led by Grażyna Hanaf, an author of books for children. In addition to discussing feelings and painting their dreams, the children listened to a wonderful story told by Ms. Grażyna about a hunchbacked girl who searched for a witch capable of fulfilling every wish and, after many adventures, regained her faith in herself and in people. She understood that the most important thing in life is love, which heals everything. Grażyna Hanaf described her adventures in the book “Garbuska”.
After dinner at the school, the children continued their activities. Divided into groups, they set off along routes through the school corridors, following the maps they had received. Various reading-related tasks awaited them there, connected with frightening characters from fairy tales. After completing them, they received certificates, bookmarks and fabulously colorful stickers.
