In the Market Square, on the green square, the results of work by students from Bolesławiec’s I Liceum Ogólnokształcące and Primary School No. 4, as well as participants from the University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec, will be presented. We encourage you to join the search for the identity of Lower Silesia and discover what has already been uncovered.
In Bolesławiec, thanks to the initiative of the director of BOK-MCC, the “Reading the City” project will be carried out. We have a chance to find out what we value most in our city, without any pretence, because we will be studied by researchers from outside.
The “Reading the City” project brings together the worlds of science and animation. As part of the project, an interdisciplinary research team learns about the history and character of the place, analyses the city, and discovers and listens to its stories. The outcome of these activities—research reports—will be presented during a seminar held as part of an international conference of the UNECC network (the network of European Capitals of Culture universities). On their basis, in spring and summer 2016, in the urban spaces proposed by the researchers, animators will undertake artistic activities in original forms adapted to the urban text and the expectations of residents.
The main operator and organiser of the activities is the Impart Wrocław 2016 festival office; its partners are the University of Wrocław, the international UNECC network, the Society of Polish Urban Planners, and the Association of Polish Architects. The Audiosphere Research Studio is also actively cooperating in the project. The project coordinator is Dr Kamila Kamińska, a lecturer affiliated with the University of Wrocław.
