Mateusz Waszak, Mateusz Moćkun and Paweł Zoran, residents of the Youth Educational Centre in Iwiny, took part in a trip to Warsaw organized by one of the youth workers – Jakub Anduła. “We went to work to earn money for it,” Mateusz Waszak points out.

They reached the capital… by plane. The tickets cost PLN 18 for a return trip (one of the low-cost airlines was running a promotion). “Mr Kuba came up with the idea of going to Warsaw so that we could do some sightseeing,” Paweł tells “ii.” “For some of us, it was the first time flying by plane.”

The Centre’s residents had the opportunity to visit the National Stadium, the Old Town and Praga. They also saw the Palace of Culture and Science and Warsaw’s Mermaid. “In a word, we liked it very much,” Paweł sums up.

“I haven’t heard of any youth worker from a Youth Educational Centre organizing such a trip for their residents, especially at such a low cost,” adds Alicja Krzyszczak, head of the Education and Promotion Department at the Bolesławiec County Office.
