A wagon with crates, a suitcase and instruments was placed below the stage, symbolizing the arrival of Poles from the former Yugoslavia in our lands. Duśko Kovacevic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Tomović, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia, Tadeusz Samborski and local authorities attended the Festa.
The star of the Balkan Festa, the Kud Opanak ensemble, performed on stage, along with the “Ocice” Singing Ensemble, the Choir of the Association of Reemigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends, the Bolesławiec Land Song and Dance Ensemble, the Herbut Family Band, the Mikra ensemble, Nasza Biesiada, the Jutrzenka Municipal Song and Dance Ensemble and the Wiktorband ensemble.
The Bożejowice-Rakowice Rural Housewives’ Circle and the Association of Active Women from Lipiany conducted workshops on making pita. Members of the Kuduk Opanak ensemble were invited to take part in the culinary competition. Weaving workshops were also prepared for those with a more artistic inclination and attracted considerable interest. The Festa was also an opportunity to try traditionally brewed coffee.
