Father Józef Gołębiowski has been associated with the church on Jana Pawła II Street (formerly Broniewskiego) since the beginning. He was its parish priest for more than 30 years. Now, suffering from health problems and after heart surgery, he is retiring to the Home for Retired Priests.
Father Mieczysław Bętkowski, who has so far served in Mysłakowice, has been appointed in his place.
There will also be changes at the Minor Basilica. Father Adam Konobrodzki is leaving for Wleń, and Father Artur Kotrys is leaving for Leśna. Father Tomasz Krauze from Polkowice will take their place.
The changes will take effect on June 27.
