Since the beginning of 2011, the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship has been providing financial assistance to local governments planning the construction, reconstruction or renovation of access roads to agricultural land. – This assistance is made possible by the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Agricultural Land. Municipalities and counties in Lower Silesia can apply for subsidies enabling solid roads to be built in their areas—roads that not only facilitate access to agricultural land but often also serve an important transport function in the surrounding area – explains Marshal Cezary Przybylski.
Thanks to these efforts, more than 634 km of roads have been built in Lower Silesia since 2011, supported by over PLN 129 million in funding. – The subsidies amount to PLN 100,000 per km or PLN 210,000 per km of road, depending on the type of road surface construction, and the money comes from the voivodeship budget – says Ewa Mańkowska, deputy marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Detailed rules for providing financial assistance are set out in individual agreements concluded between the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and individual local governments. Agreements with interested parties for 2016 and 2017 are currently being signed.
– This year alone, we have provided financial assistance to 89 municipalities and 5 counties. The total is nearly PLN 23 million. I encourage you to submit applications, because to receive a subsidy, you must submit it by the end of November in the year preceding the planned investment – adds Cezary Przybylski.
To streamline the awarding of subsidies, Lower Silesia has been divided into three regions: Jelenia Góra, Wałbrzych and Wrocław. Applications can be submitted to the field offices of the Marshal's Office's Geodesy and Cartography Department in these cities. The decision to award a subsidy is made by the voivodeship board, up to the amount of funds allocated for this purpose in the region's budget.
