Dominik B. and Łukasz L. have been charged with:

  • committing, on February 24 in Karpacz, jointly and in agreement, a robbery using a dangerous weapon in the form of a machete against Adrian S. and taking various items worth a total of PLN 2,615
  • threatening Adrian S. with being beaten by other people in order to force him to refrain from reporting the committed offense to the police.

In addition, Dominik B. was charged with damaging S.’s property at the same place and time, causing losses totaling PLN 1,015.

On February 24, in the afternoon, Dominik B. contacted Adrian S. and suggested meeting. He came to the victim’s apartment in Karpacz together with Łukasz L.

At the scene, Dominik B. asked Adrian S. to lend him PLN 50. When B. heard that the victim had no money, he punched S. in the face and then began beating him all over his body. He then proceeded to ransack the apartment. Łukasz L. also struck the victim several times.

While Dominik B. searched the apartment, L. guarded the victim, holding a machete and waving it in his direction. In the meantime, Dominik B. struck the victim several times with the machete around the back.

As they left the apartment, the suspects threatened the victim that if he reported the matter to the police, he would be beaten by other people.

Dominik B. and Łukasz L. took from the victim’s apartment four mobile phones of various brands, five USB flash drives, wireless headphones, two portable storage drives, and other items worth a total of PLN 2,615.

In addition, while ransacking the apartment, Dominik B. damaged items belonging to the victim, causing losses totaling PLN 1,015.

According to an expert’s opinion, Adrian S. sustained bodily injuries on the day of the incident that caused a health impairment lasting less than seven days.

When questioned as a suspect, Dominik B. admitted committing the acts of which he was accused and gave an explanation. He denied only using the machete during the incident; the weapon was discovered during the inspection of the scene.

Łukasz L., in turn, denied committing the acts of which he was accused and gave an explanation that remains inconsistent with the evidence collected.

Due to justified doubts about Łukasz L.’s sanity at the time of the alleged offenses, he underwent a one-time psychiatric examination. The resulting opinion states that the suspect is sane.

The suspects, Dominik B. and Łukasz L., had previously been convicted. L. committed the alleged offenses while recidivating.
