The incident took place on Sunday, May 29. Before 8:00 a.m., officers from the Traffic Department of the Lubin police, near Szkolna Street in Lubin, noticed an Opel whose driver was driving in a suspicious manner.

The officers gave the woman driving the Opel a clear signal to stop. She did not respond to the officers' instructions at all. A pursuit through the city streets began.

While fleeing from the police car, the driver disregarded all traffic regulations. Among other things, she drove through an intersection at a red light at high speed. She then hit a road sign. When an officer ran up to her car and tried to remove the keys from the ignition, she suddenly reversed, hitting the officer. Fortunately, his injuries were not serious.

It turned out that the woman from Lubin was drunk. She had nearly 2‰ of alcohol in her system. Moreover, a drug test showed that she was also under the influence of cocaine.

The officers established that the 20-year-old had held her driving licence for only a few months. The officers are analysing the entire incident in detail. The charges the woman will face will depend on their findings.
