From 25 to 29 May, traffic was heavy on the roads of the Jelenia Góra region. There were 23 road incidents, most commonly caused by excessive speed, failure to yield and rear-end collisions.
The safety of residents of the valley and tourists who visited the Jelenia Góra area during those days was overseen by both officers from the Traffic Department and those from the Prevention Department.
Officers fined 265 drivers for various traffic offences, mainly speeding. They also confiscated 39 registration certificates for technical defects and stopped 10 intoxicated drivers.
During the long May weekend, Jelenia Góra police officers intervened more than 230 times.
