May 21 will see the 15th edition of the Star Bicycle Rally. This year’s destination is Königshain, a village located in the heart of Görlitz County, where a beautiful palace complex can be found.
The finish can be reached using 10 routes and one loop. All of them will be marked with the rally’s graphic symbol. This year’s starting points have been designated in Hrádek nad Nisou/Zittau, Herrnhut, Seifhennersdorf/Rumburk, Cunewalde, Oppach, Bautzen, Zgorzelec/Görlitz, Weißwasser/O.L., Łęknica/Bad Muskau and Schleife. The return from Königshain, the destination, to the starting point will be possible via a cycling route through Arnsdorf, Krobnitz and Reichenbach/O.L.
Numerous stamping points have been arranged along each route. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (at the starting points, the stamping points will already operate from 8 a.m.), participants will be able to receive a participant card on which stamps from successive points along the route will be collected. Collecting at least three stamps entitles participants to enter the prize lottery organized at the finish. In addition to many interesting prizes, the grand prize—a trekking bicycle—will also be drawn on May 21.
Participants will also have a chance to rest in Königshain. Depending on their preferences, they will be able to spend time in this beautiful village individually, either relaxing and regaining their strength or taking part in a short tour of the palace complex. Music and culture enthusiasts will certainly be satisfied with this year’s rally program.
As in previous years, tired cyclists will be able to take a bus back. Thanks to the offer prepared by ZVON (the Upper Lusatia and Lower Silesia Public Transport Association), the fare is only 7.00 euros per adult and 3.50 euros per child and bicycle. Return bus connections and the option to reserve seats are available at www.sternradfahrt.de.
Leaflets containing all the rally routes are available at all tourist information points in Görlitz County and at all stamping points.
