Foster Care Day, observed on May 30, is a nationwide holiday established by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland in 2006. The day is intended to honour those who decided to create a real family home for children deprived of parental care.
The observance of Foster Care Day is an opportunity to promote the idea of foster care and its role in the child-care system; it is a thank-you for the effort and hard work of existing foster families. But above all, it is a chance to find more people with big hearts.
