Officers seized a total of more than 37,000 cigarettes, 13 kg of tobacco and 16 litres of spirits. It was estimated that if the illegal goods had entered the market, the State Treasury could have lost at least PLN 50,000.

The 36-year-old resident of Kochlice admitted that the seized cigarettes, tobacco and alcohol belonged to him.

He now faces up to three years in prison, as well as heavy fines.
