The development area covers more than 9 hectares. In accordance with the land-use plan, recreational areas, educational trails, sports fields, cycling paths, infrastructure serving outdoor recreation and car parks may be located there. In this space—on both sides of the Bobrowa Running Trail—the following have been planned: a sensory park designed to stimulate the human senses and serve an educational function, a rollerblading path, playgrounds for younger and older children, climbing walls, fitness trails, a skate plaza, a pump track, volleyball and beach volleyball courts.
The area will also include space for an events zone and a municipal beach. The plans also include reconstructing the pedestrian footbridge over the Bóbr.
The development will be complemented by, among other things, parking spaces, toilets and changing rooms, pavements, pedestrian crossings and street furniture—all included in the functional programme presented to Bolesławiec City Council members by architect Monika Bartos.
The individual zones have been designed so that both older and younger residents of Bolesławiec who want to spend their free time actively can use them. During the presentation of the concept, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman encouraged discussion about the final form of the site’s development.
What do you think of the city authorities’ plans? We invite you to join the discussion.
