– Together with MP Stanisław Huskowski, I organized a trip for members and supporters of Civic Platform to the Blue March in Warsaw – says Civic Platform activist from Bolesławiec Mirosław Sakowski. – The aim of this march is to oppose the policies pursued by PiS. The situation in Poland is heading in the wrong direction; actions are being taken against society: the seizure of the Constitutional Tribunal, public media and civil liberties.
The trip organized by M. Sakowski was attended by 50 Civic Platform activists and supporters from Wrocław and Bolesławiec County.
– It is encouraging that the march was attended not only by members of Civic Platform or other parties, but also by ordinary residents and supporters of the Committee for the Defence of Democracy. One could say that it was a national uprising – says Jacek Jurkiewicz of Civic Platform. – All the march’s participants expressed their disapproval of what is happening in Poland.
– We are returning from this march full of energy and hope that this event will change something in our country – adds M. Sakowski. – No one has united Poles as much as Kaczyński has over these few months.
The march was attended by 45,000 people (police figures), while according to the Warsaw city authorities, the figure was nearly a quarter of a million.
