For three weeks, the artists will work at three Bolesławiec companies: Zakłady Ceramiczne „BOLESŁAWIEC” Sp. z o.o., „Ceramika Artystyczna” Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego and Fabryka Naczyń Kamionkowych „Manufaktura” Sp. J. Smoleński & Zwierz. In addition, their workplaces will include Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki and Garncarnia na Widoku. For the fourth time, Mateusz Grobelny has been appointed commissioner of the symposium.

The artists will take part in the largest event promoting our city, the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. Two exhibitions connected with the symposium will be held during the event. The first will present sculptures received from the artists selected for the symposium, while the second, a post-symposium exhibition, will consist of works created last year during the 51st edition of the symposium.

Participants in the 52nd International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec are: Pálma Babos/Hungary, Pinar Baklan Önal/Turkey, Peggy Bjerkan/USA, Chia-Yun Liu/Taiwan, Artem Dmytrenko/Ukraine, Piotr Flądro/Poland, Władysław Garnik/Poland, Mateusz Grobelny/Poland – Symposium Commissioner, Adriana Grochal/Poland, Kazimierz Kalkowski/Poland, Monika Patuszyńska/Poland, Šárka Radová/Czech Republic, Keka Ruiz-Tagle/Chile and Craig Usher/USA.

The international symposium in Bolesławiec is a prestigious event not only on Poland’s cultural map, but also on the world’s. It is also the only ceramic symposium in Poland to have been held continuously for more than half a century. It effectively promotes the achievements of outstanding ceramic sculptors from Poland and abroad. The International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec is organized by Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury – Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki and the Municipality of Bolesławiec. The magazine Szkło i Ceramika – a popular-science bimonthly – is the media patron of the 52nd edition of the event.
