The first was a solemn Holy Mass for the Homeland at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Zamkowy Square. The mass was attended by the honor company of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and the Bolesławiec Municipal Wind Orchestra, conducted by Jan Chojnacki.
At the Forum hall, a large audience watched the concert “Poland Has Not Yet Perished”. The concert featured a guest performance by the “Mały Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble from the Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec, whose instructor is Anna Idkowiak. “Mały Bolesławiec” performed a joint dance routine with the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble from BOK-MCC. After the joint dance, each folk group presented a separate artistic programme. The instructor and choreographer of the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble is Agnieszka Radwańska, Barbara Lendzian was responsible for the vocal arrangements of the folk songs, and Michał Braszko prepared the musical arrangement together with the band of the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble.
Next, the Bolesławiec Municipal Wind Orchestra, led by Jan Chojnacki, performed three pieces: “Grey Infantry”, “March, March, Polonia” and “A Medley of Soldiers’ Songs”. They were followed by students of the BOK-MCC vocal workshop led by Barbara Lendzian, who sang “Chronicle”, “You Will Return Here” and “Such a Country”. Finally, the Bolesławiec Municipal Choir “CANTATE DEO” performed, conducted by Aleksander Samostrokow.
The concert concluded with all participants appearing on stage and singing the “3 May Mazurka” and the “Dąbrowski Mazurka”. The audience rewarded the performers with loud applause.
The organisers of the ceremonies were: the Municipality of Bolesławiec, the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre, the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Youth City Council.
