The stage during the 2nd „Orzełek” Review of Small-Scale Stage Forms was graced by nearly 200 talented preschoolers from Bolesławiec. The atmosphere was excellent! Participants in the “Theatre Education for Preschoolers” project, implemented by the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre in the 2015/2016 school year, presented their performances.
The review was intended for children from preschools in Bolesławiec. During the second edition of „Orzełek”, as many as 11 groups performed, representing Municipal Public Preschools Nos. 1, 2, 3, the branch of No. 3, 4, 6 and 7, as well as the „Zielona NIBYLANDIA”, Oxpress, and Jacek i Agatka preschools.
The children had a fantastic time during the performances. They recited, sang and danced. Thanks to the young actors, we had the opportunity to see, among others, the performances “What the Meadow Plays”, “A Little Tale About a Monkey”, as well as adaptations of the poems “The Beetle” by Skarżypyta, “The Turnip” and others.
The aim of the review was to present the artistic achievements of preschool groups from Bolesławiec County; inspire and seek new forms of artistic and educational work through theatre; exchange experiences between groups; develop aesthetic sensitivity; and enrich the personality of young people through theatre education.
The review was held as part of the “Theatre Education for Preschoolers” project, which BOK-MCC has been implementing for two years at the „Orzeł" Cultural Integration Centre. In the 2015/2016 school year, 23 groups enrolled in the programme, declaring the participation of more than 600 five-year-old children.
As part of the project, each group attends two meetings during the school year. Classes at the „Orzeł” Cultural Integration Centre are led by BOK-MCC instructor Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz. For two hours, the children play theatre games, practise and complete acting tasks, developing their skills in accordance with the Assumptions of the Core Curriculum for Preschool Education.
The programme was created to help young audiences prepare for experiencing culture in an appealing way and to familiarise them with information related to the stage and performance. We believe that contact with art will inspire young people to create their own works.
