– Contrary to appearances, it was not an easy match—quite the opposite – comments Tomasz Włoszczyński, the “Electric” team’s everyday captain, who played as libero in Saturday’s match. – Ząbkowice did not come here to lie down before us. They still had a chance to fight for the playoffs, so they gave everything they had.

The first set was the hosts’ unquestionable domination. – We completely broke down our opponents with our serves. We came out highly determined, and that probably surprised them a little – says T. Włoszczyński.

In the second set, some complacency crept into the Bolesławiec side. The visitors led for most of the set. – But step by step, through painstaking work, we made up the deficit, and caught up with them at the end. We kept our cool and managed to snatch victory from the Ząbkowice players – emphasizes the BTS Elektros captain.

The third set was very even. Tomasz Włoszczyński: – At the end, our will to win and character showed once again. We were highly determined to take all the points and move one step closer to the playoffs we dream of.

The “Electric” team still have one away match to play—against Opal Kudowa-Zdrój (the Bolesławiec side have a bye in the final round of the competition). – We will certainly travel to Kudowa-Zdrój focused, motivated and eager to fight – promises the captain of the Bolesławiec team. – Opal are a very unpredictable team because, despite being low in the table, they keep taking points from their opponents. They took points from us too.

The officials, players and supporters of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association are pleased that their hard work is finally producing the desired result, especially since many doubters said the club would not manage it. – Now we have to dot the i’s and cross the t’s in Kudowa-Zdrój to reach the final – emphasizes Jacek Łuczkowski, president of BTS.

– In the match against Ząbkowice, BTS Elektros showed character and the strength that comes from teamwork. You can see that this team is a monolith. I am very pleased with this result – continues the head of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association. – After the first phase of the competition, Ząbkowice finished first in their group, winning every match. Saturday’s game shows how necessary the reorganization of the third-division competition was; the system is now fairer. The Lower Silesian Volleyball Association deserves praise for that. And if we manage to win in Kudowa-Zdrój—and I believe that is exactly what will happen—no one will be able to say that the top two teams in the table reached those positions by accident.
