Police officers from the Zgorzelec traffic department were conducting checks in the Pieńsk municipality. In Bielawa Dolna, they stopped the driver of a delivery van who was travelling at 112 km/h. The driver, who exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 60 km/h, turned out to be a 42-year-old man.
A sobriety test showed that the man was under the influence of alcohol. He had nearly 0.4 per mille of alcohol in his system. The driver's 10-year-old son was also in the vehicle. In this situation, the police officers could make only one decision. The driver lost his driving licence.
The case will be decided by the court.
