As we read on the website of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec:

It is with sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs Anna Baniecka, a Polish language teacher (from 1959) and principal of I Liceum from 1978 to 1989. In the memories of many generations of graduates, she remains an extraordinary educator and humanist, devoted to young people and the school she led during difficult times. She was an expert in literature and a lover of history and travel. After retiring (in 1989), she maintained exceptionally warm and cordial relations with graduates and the school. She became honorary president of the Association for the Development of I Liceum, established in 2006.

It is difficult to summarize in a few words of farewell both Mrs Anna Baniecka’s rich personality and her contribution to the development of the high school. It is enough to recall that it was during her tenure as principal that the school joined the nationwide Society of Creative Schools, and that classes with specialized profiles and original curricula were introduced at that time. Many graduates remember not only the atmosphere of those years, but above all the lessons with Mrs Professor.

The funeral ceremony will take place on Friday, 18 March at the chapel of the Municipal Cemetery on Śluzowa Street in Bolesławiec. It will begin at 12:00.

The Istotne.pl editorial team extends its sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased.
