The only night of its kind in Poland! March nights already smell of spring and awakening life, and an evening walk along the edge of the forest may prove more fascinating than we imagine. This is the most active period of the year for most of our owls. They begin their mating season and hoot so loudly that it makes your hair stand on end—or feathers, of course. For the owls, out of excitement; for the other forest inhabitants, out of terror…
On 11 March 2016, we will take a close look at owls. We begin at 6:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Association in Węgliniec, at 40 Sikorskiego Street (the basement of the Health Centre). There will be a presentation on owl behaviour, species identification and calls, as well as a screening of a nature film, followed by:
- around 7:30 p.m. – harmless field hunting and listening
- around 8:30 p.m. – a bonfire with attractions.
– Anyone can take part in the event, regardless of age, interests or level of knowledge about birds or nature. Everyone is welcome! – the organisers encourage. All you need to do is bring a flashlight and, if desired, provisions for the bonfire (coffee and tea will be provided by the organiser) and come along.
