Mayor Piotr Roman:
There are a great many question marks when it comes to the detailed solutions. But the strategic decisions have already been made. The programme is not easy. And I do not mean its implementation. People are already calling, describing such complicated family situations that it is genuinely difficult to say at first glance who is entitled to this money.
According to the ministry, PLN 12 million will flow into the Bolesławiec market. That is a lot of money; it is very tangible assistance for families. But we want to implement it as well as possible.
The programme is to enter into force on 1 April. The Family Benefits Centre operating within MOPS will be located in the high-rise building of the City Office (Piłsudskiego Square). (We wrote about this in the article The “Family 500 plus” programme is launching in Bolesławiec. Who will receive the money?). “The entire lower part of the high-rise building will be remodelled for this purpose,” Vice-Mayor Kornel Filipowicz said during the February Council session. “We are considering three new employees and, to ensure an orderly process for receiving visitors, also launching ticket machines for the queue management system.”
“What is important is that, based on the calculations we have, 2,600 children in Bolesławiec will be entitled to receive this benefit,” K. Filipowicz continued. “Those who apply for this benefit by June will receive back payments. But we must be prepared for many impatient people who will want to receive the money as soon as possible. When launching the information campaign using all available media, we agreed with the heads of educational institutions that we would all join this social offensive aimed at achieving success. That success means satisfied residents.”
As the vice-mayor assured, information about the Family 500+ programme will be available at every school and kindergarten.
According to estimates by city officials, handling this task will cost PLN 240,000, of which more than PLN 134,000 will go toward “salaries + related costs + additional annual remuneration for employing three people under employment contracts.”
“We really have one month, which is very little,” P. Roman added. He asked councillors to join the information campaign connected with the government programme.
We will return to this subject.
