When, several years ago, Marii Ekier was entrusted with completing the new, updated edition of “Polish Fairy Tales” with illustrations—a decision that shapes the nation’s taste and imagination for generations—Professor Grzegorz Leszczyński called her the first lady of book illustration.
The exhibition at the Satyrykon Gallery is a special opportunity to discover the beauty of the images created by Maria Ekier. Seeing them in the original changes many previously held impressions.
The exhibition is already open to visitors. For reasons beyond the control of the organizers and the artist, the opening ceremony planned for 26 February has been postponed to 1 April.
