They also concern their locations, which is why most apartments are said to be situated in well-connected and peaceful districts that additionally offer many ways to spend one’s free time. But is that really the case?

Even if we trust the developer, before deciding to sign any agreement, we should always carefully review information about the location. All details about the address and surrounding area can usually be found on the investment’s website. Nevertheless, this information is not always complete. Recently, there was considerable coverage of apartment owners from Wrocław living in the Wysoka district, where a bypass is planned—the developer, however, omitted these details and did not disclose them to buyers.

Where should you look for information?

If you can travel to the area of the development, you can immediately see what it looks like. If that is not possible, Google Maps can quickly take you to the location. This will show you what it looks like now, but if you also want to find out what it will look like in the future, check the local spatial development plan for the location. It will show you what type of development is possible in the vicinity of the investment—for example, whether vacant plots are intended for residential construction, business developments or roads.

For example, if you are interested in new apartments in Warsaw’s Żoliborz district, you have access to many amenities, including beautiful parks, good public transport together with the metro, as well as kindergartens, schools, shops and services. It is one of the better districts to live in the capital, but, of course, it is also worth checking exactly where the development will be located and what will be in its surroundings.

So if you are looking for your ideal apartment for many years to come, remember to check its location carefully in order to avoid problems also connected with planned developments.
