The Social Prevention Team of the Lubin District Police Headquarters is accepting registrations for another edition of the prevention programme entitled “Safe Woman”. Registration will continue until 29 February 2016 or until the limit of 100 places is reached. The course will be led by Agnieszka Kazimierów, an instructor at the Lubin Krav Maga schoolAgnieszka Kazimierów.
– We would like to remind you that the techniques of the Krav Maga school are based on natural defensive reflexes, which are perfected during training so that, in a real-life emergency, the person attacked does not get injured and acts as quickly as possible. Participants will learn not only to react quickly, but also to assess threats correctly and defend themselves proportionately to the attack – Lubin police officers explain.
15 March at the Euforia pub in Lubin, participants will be able to train and, above all, learn self-defence in a venue—a place with limited space, a crowd of people and no possibility of quickly moving away from the attacker.
Another meeting outside the gym will be the “On Heels” training session, which will take place on 22 March at the Cuprum Arena shopping centre in Lubin. (The women will learn self-defence in less comfortable clothing because... they will be wearing high heels).
And on 31 March, as in previous years, the women will take part in self-defence training on public transport. The event will also be held with the support of the Municipal Transport Company in Lubin. The bus training will be preceded by a month of training in the gym, so that the women participating in the “Safe Woman” programme can test their new skills in real-life conditions.
For the seventh time, the event has been placed under the patronage of the Lubin starosta, who financed 10 sessions (on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.). They will take place from 1 to 31 March in the gymnasium of Primary School No. 5, 12 Kilińskiego Street, Lubin.
Police officers: – We ask all women interested in participating in our programme to register by calling the Social Prevention Team of the Lubin District Police Headquarters at 76 8406 246 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), or the instructor at 533 096 118. The number of places is limited to 100, so participation will be determined by the order of registration.
