From the beginning of the session, Law and Justice councillors kept raising the issue of the voivode’s letter concerning the expiry of the mandate of Karol Stasik of the Civic Platform. As is known, the Council Chairman did not submit the statement concerning his wife’s business activity on time. Stasik explained to the councillors that he had submitted the statement to the County Council Office, then spent time in hospital, and after leaving it submitted his asset declaration. A lawyer from the law firm providing services to the County Office explained that Karol Stasik’s situation was not clear-cut. Law and Justice councillors nevertheless wanted Stasik not to chair the session because, in their view, he no longer held a councillor’s mandate.
After Karol Stasik’s explanations, a vote was held on the resolution to terminate his mandate. Twelve councillors from the ruling coalition voted against it, while one councillor from Ziemia Bolesławiecka abstained. Karol Stasik and the opposition councillors did not take part in the vote. As a result, the resolution failed, and the Council did not decide to terminate the mandate.
The remaining resolutions, including the budget resolution amended by the current coalition, did not arouse controversy and were adopted by the County Council. Law and Justice councillors did not take part in the votes.
