During the upcoming weekend, our programme features the Polish romantic comedy “Planet of Singles,” the adventure drama “The Revenant,” nominated in twelve categories for this year’s Oscars, and, not only for the youngest viewers, a comic romp in the big city, “The Nutty Professor” — “Snowtime!”
In addition, on Saturday, as part of the Morning Encore series, there will be a screening of the Polish digitally restored animated film “Please, Elephant,” which is worth revisiting and showing to our children. Tickets cost only PLN 9.
- “Planet of Singles”, is the perfect film for Valentine’s Day! It is a comedy about dating online. The leading roles are played by Maciej Stuhr as a television showman adored by millions and the strikingly beautiful Agnieszka Więdłocha as a music teacher who hides her sex appeal. The two enter into an unusual agreement, thanks to which all of Poland will find out whether true love exists and where one should (not) look for it.
- “The Revenant”, is the latest film by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, recognized with 12 Oscar nominations and 3 Golden Globe awards. It is 1822. Legendary traveler and explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left by his companions to die in inaccessible terrain. To survive, he must face a murderous winter and the betrayal of his closest friend, who abandons him far from civilization with no hope of rescue. Through extraordinary strength of will, Glass overcomes adversity to find himself and exact justice on his enemies.
- “The Nutty Professor” — this comic romp in the big city will take viewers young and old on a journey full of adventure and laughter, from the snows of the Arctic to the heart of America. Things are going badly at the Pole! A greedy businessman plans to build a network of shopping centers and housing estates there. Even now, crowds of tourists are appearing in the north, littering and disturbing the animals’ peace. A good-natured polar bear known to everyone as Misiek is given an extremely difficult task. He must travel to New York — the businessman’s headquarters — and discourage people from settling in the Arctic. Three completely unpredictable lemmings accompany him on his dangerous mission. The meeting between the animals from the north and the inhabitants of the big city will result in a series of misunderstandings that will have everyone laughing out loud!
- “Please, Elephant” — Pinio found Dominik in the attic and fed him vitamins, which made the elephant grow and come to life. Although “a small friend is more convenient,” with a large one you can experience many fascinating adventures. Pinio and Dominik deal with officials, go on a trip outside the city, defeat bandits, transform the local zoo, and escape from the circus owner. Everything works out for them because they understand each other perfectly.
